Pricing and Payment FAQs
Money questions come up on almost every job, so they get straight answers. The short version: you see the price before any work starts, and you pay when the work is finished.
Call (07) 3523 6428What does a plumbing job cost?
Every job gets a fixed quote before any work starts, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay, and the size of that figure depends on the fault, the access and the parts.
Do you quote over the phone?
A phone conversation helps us bring the right gear, but the firm number comes after we have laid eyes on the problem, because guessing a price from a description rarely ends well for anyone.
How do I pay once the job is done?
Card and EFTPOS payment on site means you settle up before we pack the tools away, so there is no invoice arriving later and nothing to chase once the van leaves the driveway.
What changes the price of a job?
Access is the big one, because a fitting behind tiled walls or a pipe run under an older slab takes longer to reach than one in a cupboard, and labour time moves the figure.
Booking and Coverage
Getting a plumber out should be simple, and a little information up front makes the visit faster. These answers cover where we work and what helps when you ring.
Call (07) 3523 6428How far out do you travel?
Our regular run takes in Caboolture and the neighbours on the same patch, including Elimbah, Toorbul, Ningi, Beachmere and Caboolture South, and one call to (07) 3523 6428 confirms your street is on the list.
What should I have ready when I call?
The fixture involved, how long it has been playing up and anything you have already tried all help, and a photo of the fault or the water meter shortens the first visit considerably.
Can small jobs be booked?
They can, and they should be, because a washer or a cistern that will not stop filling is worth a visit, and small faults left alone have a habit of turning into bigger repairs.
Can I get a plumber out today?
Same-day where we can is how we work, so an early call gives the best chance of a plumber arriving that day, though the diary and the job in front of yours set the pace.
The Services We Are Asked About
The range runs from a washer to a whole hot water system, and each category has its own page with the detail. These answers give you the overview.
Call (07) 3523 6428What general plumbing work do you handle?
Taps, toilets, bathrooms, kitchens and hidden leaks all sit inside the general plumbing range, alongside drainage and hot water, and the work is carried out under our QBCC licence in Queensland.
Can you clear a blocked sewer or stormwater line?
Both, and Unitywater's mains versus your own pipes is the first question, because sewer trouble shows at gully traps while stormwater backs up in wet weather, and each gets its own diagnosis.
Do you repair hot water systems or only replace them?
Repairs come first wherever a tank still has life in it, with elements, thermostats and valves tested before anything is condemned, and a replacement is only quoted when a unit is genuinely finished.
Is gas fitting part of the service?
Yes, the gasfitting class of our licence covers cooktops, bayonet points, hot water lines and leak repairs, and every connection gets pressure-tested and certified before it goes back into service.
Emergencies and Local Conditions
Some calls cannot wait for a convenient time, and some problems come back because of the pipes under the house rather than anything you did. Both get an answer here.
Call (07) 3523 6428What do I do first when a pipe bursts?
Turn the water off at the meter straight away, then ring (07) 3523 6428, because stopping the flow protects your floors and walls while you wait and leaves the repair with somewhere to start.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Leave the property and call from outside, and do not flick switches or light flames, because gas is never a wait-and-see problem and every smell deserves treating as the real thing.
Why do drains keep blocking in the older streets?
The old grid near the railway station runs clay and concrete mains with short joints, so a repeat blockage usually points at one cracked joint rather than a whole run of pipe.
How do I book a plumber?
Ring (07) 3523 6428 and describe the problem, and we will book a time and ask a few quick questions so the right parts come along on the first visit.
